Fahan crash corner set to be ‘redefined’
€50k to improve safety at Inishowen’s worst accident blackspot

After another week of road traffic collisions in Fahan village, work is finally set to get underway to improve one of Inishowen’s most notorious accident blackspots.
There were two separate car crashes at the ‘Lookout’ corner in Fahan within the space of two hours on Tuesday afternoon while another serious collision also occurred there last week.
Councillor Rena Donaghey confirmed that much-needed works, costing €50,000, to make the dangerous bend safer will go ahead next week.
“The roads design team in Lifford has come up with a plan to improve safety and the tender has been awarded to a contractor. The works had been due to start in September but they will definitely begin next week,” she said.
