Gardaí in Inishowen are hunting a suspected child kidnapper after two separate abduction attempts this week.
Children were approached by a man, understood to be driving a light blue or silver car in Bridgend and Buncrana on Monday.
The first incident occurred at approximately 4pm outside St. Aengus NS, at Bonemaine, Bridgend, where a lone male attempted to lure a young boy into his car, offering him a bag of sweets near the school gates.
Superintendent Andrew Archbold said Gardaí are treating both incidents ‘extremely seriously’ even though kidnapping remains a very rare occurrence here.
“It is something we are taking very seriously and I assure everyone that it will be investigated thoroughly.”
