There will be five Inishowen league clubs hoping to progress to the third round of the FAI Junior cup this weekend.
In an all Inishowen clash between Quigleys Point Swifts and Cockhill Celtic Youths, the home side will be expected to advance having had a fantastic start to their league campaign with five wins in a row.
Moville Celtic have a home game against Donegal league side Deele Harps and with home advantage they too will be expected to advance.
Aileach have been handed the most difficult task of the Inishowen sides, with an away trip to Glenea and the Lakeside men will need to be at their best in order to advance against a big physical Glenea side who are at the top end of the Donegal league on a regular basis.
Buncrana Hearts have been handed a home draw against Saturday league side Glencar in what is their first time back in the FAI Junior cup since joining the Ulster Senior league over twenty years ago.
Hearts manager Gerard Boyle told the Inishowen Independent this week that he is hopeful of a good run in the competition. “Although the league is our number one priority, we will be looking to do well in every competition and the fact that we have not been involved in the Junior cup for so long means it would be nice to get a good run in it.”
