The times are ‘a changing’ in Inishowen

The Inishowen Civic Forum will launch an ambitious Regeneration Programme for the Inishowen Peninsula at a meeting in the Strand Hotel Ballyliffin, next Tuesday at 8pm.
Among the VIP speakers for the launch will include John Hogan, National President, Muintir na Tire who will address a wide range of regeneration matters such as providing the basic services in rural areas both for permanent residents and visitors.
The ICF believes new opportunities demand new approaches by Inishowen and the chairman, Jim McCarroll, quotes Bob Dylan saying: “The times; they are a changing”.
The ICF have a number of projects at implementation or planning stages, including their ‘flagship’ project – the Inishowen Trails. They also plan to link the Inishowen Walks to the National Trails Network and to the Wild Atlantic Way.
Other projects include an “Education for Enablement” scheme, the creation of an Inishowen alliance of business associations and to diversify the stricken Inishowen fishing industry.
