Carn’s new bargain footbridge costs Council just €10,000

Councillor praises engineer for taking ‘bull by the horns’
CARN’S new footbridge on the Moville Road will cost the Council a bargain price of €10,000, an Inishowen councillor has revealed.
Quigley’s Point councillor Mickey Doherty (pictured above on right) explained how he urged the Council to buy the bridge after he was approached by a man in Dublin, who was selling it. Cllr. Doherty said the price was “too good to pass”.
“As soon as this man in Dublin contacted me I rang Charlie Kerr, the senior Roads Engineer for Inishowen, and pressed hard for the Council to buy it – it was too good an opportunity to miss out on,” explained Cllr. Doherty.
