‘Europe is the road we’re on, it’s the only road left’
Moville residents rely on European law to block proposed sewerage treatment plant
A Moville group strongly opposed to Donegal County Council plans to build a new sewerage treatment plant that will discharge effluent into Lough Foyle has vowed to carry the fight to Europe after defeat at the High Court.
Community for a Clean Estuary spokesman Enda Craig told supporters at a public meeting in the town on Monday night: “When it goes to Europe it’ll be seen for what it is. They will have no difficulty in seeing how ridiculous this whole thing is.”
Craig failed last August in a High Court bid to quash planning permission but remains determined to stop the controversial plan to release treated sewage into Lough Foyle at Carnagarve.
