Plans with council to regenerate derelict Moville hotel
MOVILLE’s New Park House, where Britain’s decorated World War II military leader Field Marshal Montgomery lived during his early years, could be set for a major revamp, plans submitted to Donegal County Council have revealed.
Montgomery’s ancestral home, which was built in the 18th century, is located on the outskirts of Moville and has become known in more recent times as the New Park Hotel. However the hotel has not been operational for almost 30 years.
Since then, New Park House has been lying in a state of disrepair with part of the building cordoned off.
