Carnagarve treatment plant continues to stir controversy
INISHOWEN councillors have called for Moville sewage to be pumped north of Greencastle rather than into Lough Foyle.
Donegal County Council have recently had their planning application upheld at the High Court to have an outflow pipe into Lough Foyle, however councillors are now calling for the plans to changed and to have the pipe moved at least two miles from that location.
Speaking at a meeting of the Inishowen Electoral Area in Carn, Culdaff councillor Bernard McGuinness said he had always felt that the outfall pipe should be located north of Greencastle but claims it had “fallen on deaf ears” with Donegal County Council. He said he “can’t understand” why he has been ignored by the Executive of the Council.
