Inishowen and the ‘Wild Atlantic Way’

2,400kms route to be centerpiece of Fáilte Ireland marketing in 2014

24th Charles Macklin Festival - Sean Beattie Book launch

The news that Inishowen is to be included in the latest Wild Atlantic Way promotion by Fáilte Ireland has been hailed as ‘great news for the peninsula.’

Fáilte Ireland will heavily promote the Wild Atlantic Way, which runs from Inishowen down along the west coast as far as Kinsale in County Cork, in 2014.

The marketing will be aimed at high spending American and European visitors and the route will be billed as the ‘road trip of a lifetime’.

Speaking this week Jennifer O’Donnell (above) of Inishowen Tourism revealed that Inishowen will be the first place in the country where work will commence to mark the new route.
