Pensioner traumatised after home ransacked
AN EIGHTY-year old woman has been left traumatised after callous thieves ransacked her home in Glengad while she was out at Mass, just days before Christmas.
Bridget McLaughlin had been attending St. Patrick’s Church, Aughaclay last Saturday evening when burglars smashed through the back door of her home.
In one of two shocking Christmas robberies, thieves searched Ms. McLaughlin’s house for cash and valuables before making off with a sum of money.
Meanwhile on Christmas Eve a house in Culdaff was also ransacked.
The Glengad victim’s nephew, James Kelly, told the Inishowen Independent that his aunt was left severely shaken when she returned from Mass to find the back door broken down.
Speaking a number of days after the robbery, Mr. Kelly said Ms. McLaughlin remains ‘traumatised’.
