Local girls training for Ireland’s toughest test of endurance
Three young Inishowen women are preparing to take part in a gruelling physical and mental endurance test early next month to raise funds for the Donegal cancer bus.
Linda McColgan, Ciara Walsh and Ciara Douglas, all aged 25 and from Malin, have joined forces with Roscommon friend Eilish Frawley ahead of the Trojan Challenge in Bray, billed as Ireland’s toughest obstacle course.
The intrepid quartet are calling their ambitious fundraising effort, ‘Four Lovely Ladies To Hell And Back’. They are currently in training ahead of the February 2nd off-road challenge, which includes an ice cold pond, a barbed wire crawl and a sniper alley during a 10k run through swampy mud.
With all the funds raised going directly towards the bus that ferries local cancer patients for regular treatment in Galway, the girls have already collected €500 and counting.
