Shelter from the storm in Moville

Locals urged to help with clean-up operation on Saturday

Members of the community in Moville are urged to come out this Saturday, January 18 to lend their support to a clean-up operation on the storm-damaged shore path.

St. Eugene’s Hall will be the base to co-ordinate the group effort with volunteers encouraged to come along between 10am and 2pm to help remove large quantities of litter and debris, washed ashore by the recent high tides and strong winds.

With bags, gloves and pickers set to be provided by Moville Tidy Towns, volunteers will be allocated a section of path and guided by leaders in charge of seven different sections along the shore walk.

Afterwards there will be refreshments and a storm exhibition, including extensive photos and video footage of the aftermath.

If you wish to volunteer to help in anyway contact the Family Resource Centre on 9385548 or Trish Murphy on 087 6478183. Any businesses that wish to contribute for refreshments are asked to contact William McElhinney on 085 1053893.
