Ballyliffin man swaps Isle of Doagh for bright lights of Tokyo

Michael prepares for race of his life for Parkinson’s charity
A Ballyliffin man is preparing for one of the biggest races of his life and all for a very special cause which is close to his heart.
Later this month, local shopkeeper Michael McLaughlin (above) will be swapping the picturesque training ground of The Isle of Doagh for the neon lights of Tokyo as he takes part in the 2014 Japanese Marathon.
On Saturday, February 23, Michael will run 26.2 miles around the Japanese city of Tokyo – more than 6,000 miles from home, in the name of Parkinson Ireland.
