‘Egg’ to run for Fine Gael after all
‘I believe I will be running for a county council seat as a FG candidate’
Mayor of Buncrana Peter McLaughlin (Egg) says he has been approached to run for Fine Gael in the county council election.
Cllr McLaughlin was sensationally snubbed at last month’s Fine Gael Inishowen selection convention when just three sitting county councillors were selected for May’s local election where nine council seats will be up for grabs.
However Councillor McLaughlin has said that he has since been approached to run on the party’s ticket.
He said: “I have been approached by the constituency chairman on the direction of the area organiser. I was basically told that they want me on the Fine Gael ticket.”
