Public meeting called after An Post reveals it could close
The residents of Gleneely are being asked to stand together and fight against any possible closure of their local Post Office after An Post revealed that it’s future is in jeopardy.
Many local residents were alarmed to learn, via a notice in the Post Office this week, that applications and submissions are currently being sought for the future provision of the service in Gleneely.
Janet Krohn, chairperson of the Gleneely Development Association, said there is real fear in the local community that the Post Office might close permanently.
They are now calling on the whole village to come out in force to a public meeting on Monday night (February 24) to resist any possible closure.
