Critical acclaim for ‘The Black Snow’
The latest book by Carndonagh born author Paul Lynch has been launched to critical acclaim.
The Black Snow is Paul Lynch’s second novel and follows hard on the heels of Red Sky Morning, which was published last year and was also hailed by critics.
Paul explained briefly the background to the book: “The central character is a man called Barnabas Kane who comes home to Ireland with his wife and family after living in the States.
“He built the skyscrapers there in the 1920s and 1930s and at the book’s opening they are riding high.
“They move to a farm in Donegal and despite being from the area they are described by one of the characters as a ‘local stranger’.”
Paul added: “The character Barnabas Kane has a dream of Ireland in his head, he wants to come back to an Ireland that a newly minted country.”
