A total of 3,914 now signing on at Buncrana social welfare office
The number of unemployed people in Inishowen has risen slightly for the second consecutive month.
The latest Central Statistics Office figures have revealed a total of 3,914 signing on the Live Register at Buncrana social welfare office at the end of February, an increase of 14 from the January tally.
The peninsula’s jobless figure has fallen significantly by 469 from February last year but remains more than double the number in February 2007 when 1,707 were out of work before the economic collapse.
The total number of men on the dole here increased by 3 while the figure for women out of work also climbed slightly by 11.
