Buncrana’s Nicholas Crossan is the new chairman of the Inishowen Municipal District.

Cllr Crossan was elected after defeating Sinn Féin’s Cllr Jack Murray by 7 votes to 2 at the first meeting of the new Municipal District in Carndonagh’s Public Services Centre.

While he had served on Buncrana Town Council as an Independent for more than 20 years, Cllr Crossan is a first time county councillor.

Cllr Crossan will have a busy first 12 months on the council: in addition to being Inishowen chairman he is also the Deputy Chairman of Donegal County Council.
