Highland Radio has been awarded another ten year licence by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI), and the rival consortium, headed up by Carn businessman Paddy Simpson, has said that while it is disappointed it wished Highland well.
Highland Radio and DLFM both sought the 10-ten year licence from the BAI for commercial radio broadcasting in the North Donegal area, a licence that Highland Radio had held since 1990.
The process culminated in a public hearing Letterkenny in March where presentations were made by both Highland and DLFM to board members of the BAI.
The award of the licence to Highland was announced on Monday.
