‘Mickey will be sadly missed’

Councillors lament ‘difficult election’ at first Municipal District

Fine Gael

AT the first meeting of the Inishowen Municipal District in Carn on Monday, councillors united in their support for former Quigley’s Point councillor Mickey Doherty, after he was the only sitting councillor not to be re-elected at the recent Council elections.

Starting the sentiments was outgoing councillor and Moville councillor Martin Farren. “I would like to pay tribute to Mickey Doherty who will be sadly missed on the Council,” said Cllr. Farren. “He was an excellent public representative and I was talking to him again on Saturday.

“He will be a very sad loss here and to the people he represented. I wish him and his family all the very best. He was a great councillor and very well respected in Inishowen.”
