Delight as Moville school to have new canteen included in plans

PAGE 2 Martin FarrenMOVILLE Community College is set to get new canteen, as part of the €1.69 million investment, which was announced earlier this year.

The new canteen/general purpose room will be in addition to the phase one plans, which was announced last June by the school’s principal Anthony Doogan and Councillor Martin Farren.

Last June, Mr. Doogan revealed that the plans for phase one included five general classrooms, one science laboratory, one home economics room, one technology room, one learning support room and ancillary works to include toilets, stairs, lift and electrical works.

However, after discovering that the plans did not include a GP room or dining area, Mr. Doogan and Cllr. Farren made representations to the Department of Education and to the Donegal Education and Training Board [ETB] to have the area included in phase one.

Speaking this week, Cllr. Farren said he was delighted to receive confirmation that the Department and the ETB had approved the inclusion of the 175 square metres dining area to the original plans.
