The Ireland u19 women’s team have made the semi final of the European championships in Norway after three wins in their group over Spain, England and Sweden and Greencastle girl Roma McLaughlin has spoken of how enjoyable the whole experience has been. “It’s great to be involved in the tournament.”
“The girls have been all great to me. I’ve got another three years left at Under-19 level, including this one, and am still eligible for the Under-17s, too.
“It has been a brilliant week. We’re all on a high since the three results against Spain, England and Sweden. Hopefully there’s more to come. We have to finish the job off now.”
The Greencastle girl has not had any game time so far in the competition but there is no doubt that with another three years at this age, she will certainly benefit from the experience.
The semi final will take place on Thursday against the Netherlands with a 6.00pm kick off.
