iCARE win-a-house draw cancelled due to poor sales

ICARE win a house

THE iCARE draw, which could have seen a lucky winner the lucky winner bagging themselves a house in Buncrana, has been cancelled due to poor ticket sales.  The Inishowen autism children’s charity announced their ‘Win a House’ draw last November after a local family, who had previously won the house from iCARE, approached the popular local charity.

The winner of the five-bedroom home in Mulberry Avenue, Carleen and Mark McLaughlin, proposed that they would sell the house back to iCARE for the market value and any monies raised by the draw over and above that price would go directly to iCARE.

The couple and the iCARE committee hoped that the draw would spark a lot of interest throughout Inishowen and it would result in a much-needed boost for the autism related charity, which receives no government funding.

However, due to poor to extremely poor ticket sales, iCARE announced this week that they would be cancelling the draw and that all ticket sales would be refunded, saying they “had no option but to withdraw” from the raffle.
