‘Last week’s result will mean nothing if we don’t qualify from the group’ – Duffy

Gary Duffy (Burt) cutoutHaving picked up a very impressive point last weekend against Division 2 side St.Naul’s, Gary Duffy insists that his Burt side will now need to kick on and qualify from the group if that result is to mean anything.

“It’s no good us going and getting that good result and then not qualifying from the group. As I said last week, we are looking to establish ourselves as an Intermediate club and we can only do that by qualifying from groups like this one,” he said.

Speaking of that perfromance Duffy admits that he was very pleased with his players. “I was very happy with the perfromance I have to say. I thought we were full value for the draw and could even have won the game and what pleased me most of all was the workrate of the players,” Duffy explained.

It dosent get any easier for Duffy and his players this weekend when they again face a Division 2 side in Cloughaneely and the Burt boss is well aware of the threat posed by their opponents.
