A motorcyclist lost of his life in a three vehicle road traffic collision which occurred between Bridgend and Burt last night, Thursday.
The male motorcyclist, who was aged in his 50s and from Northern Ireland, was involved in a collision with two cars on the main N13 Derry-Letterkenny Road.
A silver Renault Megane and a grey BMW collided in the townland of Lisfannon, around 10.20pm.
Gardaí in Buncrana are seeking information on the movements of the Honda motorcycle and the BMW. The BMW is reported as having been travelling towards Derry when it collided with the Renault which was exiting the driveway of a house.
Investigating gardaí do not yet know which direction the motorcyclist was travelling when he was involved in the collision.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Letterkenny General Hospital. One of the drivers, a male in his 30s, was taken to hospital in Derry with what were described as minor injuries and the other driver was uninjured.
This stretch of road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions via the Slab Road and Burnfoot, are in place.

Last night’s fatal road traffic collision is the second motorcycle fatality to hit Donegal this week. On Wednesday, Hugh Shalvey died when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle towing a trailer near his home in Raphoe.
