Donegal almost back to full strength ahead of league opener

First chance for Gallagher to show his credentials

The McKenna Cup has been and gone and it was a good chance for new manager Rory Gallagher (above) to have a look at some new faces. After an opening day defeat in Owenbeg against Brian McIver’s Derry, Donegal recorded two impressive wins over Queens and Fermanagh respectively.

On Saturday night in Ballybofey though, the real meaningful action gets underway when McIver’s Derry will provide the opposition against a Donegal team that will look completely different to the one which lined out in Owenbeg a few weeks ago.

Rory Kavanagh has retired from inter county football while Leo McLoone has taken a break from the game although the likes of Neil McGee, David Walsh and Colm McFadden are back in training and may return on Saturday night.
