Carn boy racers put kids at risks

Call for ramps to slow down speeding drivers in housing estate

CARN parents are fearful that their children could be knocked down or killed if measures aren’t taken to try to stamp out speeding in a local housing estate.

Councillors Bernard McGuinness and Albert Doherty are calling on the Donegal County Council to install speed ramps at Donagh Park in Carn in a bid to thwart the boy racers.

Sinn Féin Cllr. Albert Doherty said residents have been increasingly concerned at the amount of speeding traffic going through the estate.

He said recently there have been a lot of houses for sale in the development, which has resulted in an increased volume of drivers, who may be unaware of the children out playing in the street.
