Soiled toilet brushes among items illegally strewn along road
A bagful of soiled toilet brushes is among a lorry load of rubbish illegally dumped at one of Inishowen’s most scenic areas. The rubbish, which includes large amounts of rubble, broken tiles, radiators, empty paint buckets and a rusty wheelbarrow, is strewn along the roadside at the foot of Grainne’s Gap near Iskaheen, Muff. Much of the load is clearly visible on the road but more rubbish, including an old armchair, plastic bins and piping, has been dumped further out of view, among the pine trees. The elevated location, one of the most beautiful and remote in Inishowen, is becoming something of an easy target for unscrupulous tippers, having been targeted several times in the past couple of years. Cllr Rena Donaghey, who is a volunteer with the Buncrana Tidy Towns and lives a few miles from the site of the latest illegal dump, blasted those behind the incident.
