Isle of Doagh search: Body Recovered

UPDATE: BODY FOUND IN SEARCH FOR ANTHONY GRIFFITHS (59)
A man’s body was found this afternoon, Thursday, September 1, amid rocks at Knockamany Bends, close to Five Fingers Strand, Malin.
The body was spotted by the Coast Guard helicopter shortly after 3pm and recovered a short time later.
DERRY MAN’S CAR PARKED CLOSE TO WATER
A major sea and land search for a missing man is continuing today in Inishowen.
It is understood the missing man, is aged in his late fifties and is from the Culmore area of Derry.
The alarm was raised on Tuesday evening at 6.20pm when the man had not returned to his car, which had been parked close to the water.
Lifeboats from Buncrana RNLI and the Greencastle Coast Guard are taking part in the sea search, while members of the Coast Guard, Gardaí and locals are helping to search the coastline.
The search operation began yesterday, Tuesday August 30, shortly after 6.30pm but was called off due to failing light at 10pm.
It resumes this morning.
The man’s car was removed by Gardaí to Burnfoot Garda Station.
His family has been informed.
