A Buncrana mother says the prayers and support of the local community helped her son make a miraculous recovery from a serious head injury.

Trina Mhic Dhónaill said her son Eoghan, 11, is expected to make a complete recovery after spending more than a month in Dublin’s Beaumont Hospital where he underwent two operations.

Eoghan sustained head injuries after falling from a tree on 19 August, and spent several days in an induced coma.

But mum Trina says he is now well on the way to recovery.

“The doctors didn’t expect to him to recover as quickly as he did,” she said.

“Once he moved from intensive care to the children’s ward, he came on in leaps and bounds.”
