THE REVENUE officials have urged people in Inishowen to report others who fail to pay their VRT.
Customs officers conducted a large VRT checkpoint at Burt on Friday morning, creating large tailbacks on the National Primary Road.
During the large checkpoint in Burt one car was seized for non-payment of VRT. It is not known who many warnings were issued by Revenue officials.
A spokesperson for the Customs confirmed that Revenue officers were operating a checkpoint on Friday, October 7. She said they were ‘carrying out routine operations, primarily targeting non-compliance with Vehicle Registration Tax (VRT) Regulations’.
The spokesperson for the Revenue said VRT is chargeable on the registration of motor vehicles in the State.
