Man arrested in connection with Andy Allen murder
Man in thirties was continuing to be questioned last night
A MAN arrested in connection with the murder of Andy Allen was continuing to be questioned by Gardaí in Buncrana last night.
Around 8am yesterday morning, a man in his thirties was arrested by Gardaí in the Burnfoot area in relation to the murder of Allen more than four years ago.
Gardaí confirmed that the man was brought to Buncrana Garda Station under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act following his arrest to begin beginning questioning.
And at the time of going to press last night Gardaí confirmed to the ‘Inishowen Independent’ that investigations were still ongoing and the man was continuing to be questioned by detectives.
Derry man Andy was gunned down in his home in Links View, Lisfannon, in February 2012 and to this day no one has been charged in relation to his killing.
Dissident group Republican Action Against Drugs claimed responsibility for the shooting.
A number of people have been arrested since Allen [24] was shot dead at his home, however they have all been released without charge after a period of questioning.
