WITH the current cold snap set to continue for the rest of the week, Gardaí are warning motorists to be ‘extremely cautious’ on the roads here.
Yesterday temperatures dropped to – 4º as freezing fog dominated the Inishowen landscape, causing many motorists to struggle with the early morning commute.
Throughout the weekend there was a spate of crashes across Inishowen, despite Council gritters working around the clock to keep the roads clear and ice-free.
Garda Superintendent Eugene McGovern said he would urge people to be extremely cautious and to exercise as much care as possible when on the roads in the coming days.
