An Inishowen father who lost his daughter in a road accident almost two years ago says he still misses her every single day.
George Doherty says he lost his “best friend in the world” when 13-year-old Georgia Doherty died in a road traffic collision on the Glenshane Road outside Derry on February 22 last year.
A Belfast inquest has found that blocked drains and excess water on the surface of the A6 caused the car, which was being driven by Georgia’s sister Lisa, to lose control and crash into another vehicle.
George says the result of the inquest was “as good as we could have gotten”, given the circumstances.
“The most positive thing is that it is now proven that Lisa wasn’t in the wrong. We knew that from day one anyway but it’s good to have it clarified.”
