Donegal roads are among worst in Ireland
Donegal roads are among the worst in Ireland, it has been revealed this week.
A ‘Performance Indicators in Local Authorities’ report has found that almost 13,000 kilometres of roads in the country suffer from “structural distress” – that’s 13 per cent of the total road network.
Donegal is one of the worst-affected counties, with almost 18 kilometres of regional roads falling into the worst possible categories of 1 and 2 – where there is “severe structural distress” and “extensive loss of pavement surface”.
These category roads also included “many large and deep potholes”, “disintegration of surface” and are “very difficult to drive on.”
