‘Be extra vigilant for bird flu’

Two cases confirmed in Republic but none at Inch Lake yet
An Inishowen wildlife official is urging members of the public here, particularly those who regularly visit Inch Lake, to be extra vigilant for bird flu.
The call comes after two cases of the avian virus were confirmed in wild ducks in counties Galway and Wexford.
So far, no trace of bird flu has been found in Inishowen but Lee McDaid, of the National Parks and Wildlife Service, says we should be on the lookout for the signs nonetheless.
