Malin Head Coast Guard saved 100 lives in 2016

Inishowen marine rescue centre handled 625 incidents last year
Malin Head Coast Guard Station coordinated rescues that saved the lives of one hundred people in 2016.
In total, the marine rescue centre last year dealt with 625 separate incidents, a quarter of all call-outs nationally.
The Coast Guard determined that 100 people had their lives saved on the basis that the intervention “precluded loss of life or severe risk of loss of life.”
