Councillors unanimously back plan but nearby residents strongly oppose development
Plans for 21 new council homes in Buncrana were passed unanimously by Donegal County Councillors in Lifford yesterday morning.
The council plans to build 13 houses and eight apartments in the new €4 million social housing development at Rockytown, just off the Causeway Road.
The plan has been roundly welcomed by local politicians however many residents in the area are opposed, with 45 signing a petition to block the blueprint and a number also lodging formal planning objections.
