‘Brilliant’ new Visitor Management Plan for Malin Head

Donegal County Council is seeking tenders for the development of a Visitor Management Plan for Malin Head.
The council said an important part of the process will be “engaging with the local community and other stakeholders” involved in the area.
The aim of the plan is to guide the future development and management of Malin Head – one of fifteen Signature Discovery Points on the Wild Atlantic Way stretching from Cork to Donegal.
The Visitor Management Plan will target four areas including visitor experience; community benefit; environmental protection and traffic management.
Local county councillor Martin McDermott described the plan as “brilliant” and “something we have been pushing for for many years”.
