Crana College students honoured at top Arts competition

‘I’m so proud of their achievements’ says Principal

AN INISHOWEN secondary school were crowned All Ireland Champions at a prestigious arts and drama competition last week.

On Friday, Crana College were crowned the overall winners of the Briery Gap Theatre Awards in Mullingar.

The group, who were led by the school’s music teacher Laura Keogh, comprised mostly of TY students along with students from other year groups, who qualified from the Regional Finals in January.

Crana College Prinicpal Kevin Cooley explained that this is the first year that the Buncrana secondary school entered the prestigious competition, which has been running for 16 years. He said they were delighted to have reached the final let alone win the competition.
