Buncrana solicitor describes penalty points debacle as ‘Murphy’s Law’
Scores of Inishowen motorists are likely to be among those who will have convictions overturned after Gardaí issued tens of thousands of summons in the wrong.
Some 14,700 people across the country were wrongly convicted of motoring offences in court over the past ten years having already paid fixed penalty notices.
In total it is thought that Gardaí issued 146,865 summonses to people who had already paid fines they received in the post.
