Council officials meet to agree joint-funding plan
There is still no certainty about the future of the Foyle Ferry service, described as one of the most vital parts of transport infrastructure between Inishowen and the wider North-West region.
The route, which was traditionally up and running by St Patrick’s Day, remains closed after last year’s operator Fraser Ferries quit and there is still no sign of a replacement provider.
It is understood that officials from Donegal County Council and the Causeway Coast and Glens Council met on Monday in a fresh bid to formulate a joint-funding plan that will see a new tender document going out with a financial subvention attached.
