Census reveals more renters and fewer vacant properties

Household sizes decrease in most areas in Inishowen

THERE are more people living in homes in Donegal and fewer vacant properties, according to latest results released from Census 2016.

The statistics have revealed that 58,305 homes in the county are now permanently occupied a rise of one per cent compared with the previous data released in April 2011 when 57,721 homes were lived in.

However the increase in the number of permanently occupied dwellings throughout the county is much slower than the rest of the country where there was an almost three per cent rise since April 2011.
