Five-year plan to deliver new cross-border walking, running and cycling trails
Donegal County Council will soon begin hiring staff to work on the implementation of a new €20 million cross-border ‘greenways’ network following the allocation of European Union funding.
DCC Director of Transport John McLaughlin said no specific timetable has been worked out just yet but recruitment for the project could begin “in the next month or so”.
The initiative, which will result in the creation of a series of walking, running and cycling trails across Inishowen, Derry and Strabane, is expected to be complete by the year 2022.
