Donegal County Council WILL fund Foyle ferry despite ‘surprising’ snub from Causeway Council
An Inishowen county councillor is “extremely disappointed” that the Causeway Coast and Glens Council has opted not to provide any funding towards the Foyle ferry, while a councillor from Greysteel labelled the decision as “narrow-minded and ludicrous”.
The Causeway Council has decided not to subsidise the cross-border service after councillors across the water voted against a funding motion on a score of 20 to 15.
Sinn Fein, SDLP and a number of independent councillors voted in favour but Unionist members of the DUP, UUP and TUV blocked it.
