One in four ambulances coming from outside Inishowen

More than one in four ambulances called to attend emergencies in Inishowen are coming from outside the peninsula, it has emerged.
New National Ambulance Service figures have revealed that there were 1,898 emergency callouts here from March 1 last year until February 28 this year, but 510 of them [26.8 per cent] were dealt with by ambulances coming from Letterkenny, Donegal Town, Lifford, Stranorlar or Dungloe.
In many of these cases, paramedic crews will take approximately an hour to reach patients in distress in Inishowen.
