Drink driving case faces 16th adjournment as Irish language saga continues
THERE have been further delays to scores of suspected drink driving cases in Inishowen as the Irish language saga continues to rumble on.
Dozens of drink driving court cases have been before courts in Buncrana and Carn for up to two years waiting on a final decision as to whether the breath test statements are valid if they are produced in English only.
Solicitors have been arguing that suspected drink drivers should have been given the option to have their section 13 statements provided in either English or Irish after they provided gardaí with a breath specimen.
