Waste company clamps down on ‘excessively heavy’ bins

Logan’s are warning customers who regularly put out very heavy bins.

A local waste recycling company is clamping down on customers who are regularly putting out “excessively heavy” bins for collection.

Logan Waste has written to customers who have left out bins weighing more than 100 kilogrammes, warning them that from June 1st they face a new system of charges.

John Logan, of Logan Waste, says the changes won’t affect most customers but only a “small percentage” of customers who are “abusing” the pay-by-lift system by leaving out bins that are extremely difficult to move.
