INISHOWEN’s unemployment figures have fallen to a nine year low, according to the latest data released by the Central Statistics Office.
2,410 people are on the Live Register in Buncrana – the lowest level it has been since May 2008 when there was 2,243 men and women without fulltime employment.
Throughout 2017, unemployment has fallen gradually since the start of the year, however annually the jobless numbers have fallen by almost 14 per cent compared with May 2016.
Month on month, unemployment has dropped by more than two per cent falling from 2,465 in April to 2,410 in May, according to the CSO.
