A BALLYLIFFIN chef and his world-famous chowder has quite possibly just sealed the deal for Donegal to be crowned the food capital of Ireland.
On Saturday the owner of Nancy’s Barn in Ballyliffin, Kieran ‘Duey’ Doherty, won the World Chowder Cook-off in Newport, Rhode Island.
And just three days into his new-found fame, the popular cook has already been contacted by top entrepreneurs in the states who are keen to meet with him.
Speaking to the Inishowen Independent from Rhode Island, Kieran said: “I am just buzzing with excitement, I am absolutely ecstatic.
